Sugar production reached 2.4 million tons in the first half of May 2025. Since the beginning of the 2025/2026 harvest up to May 16th, 2025, accumulated sugar production reached 3.99 million tons while in the same period at 2024/2025 harvest season it was reported 5.16 million tons. The volume of ethanol produced reached 1.78 billion liters in the first half of May. Cumulative ethanol output for the harvest stood 3.68 billion liters, comprising 1.08 billion liters of anhydrous ethanol and 2.6 billion liters of hydrous ethanol. Of the total fuel produced in the first half of May 2025, 359.9 million liters of biofuel were produced from corn.
