UNICA at COP30 – “The role of biofuels as a strategy to energy transition”

The Global Stocktake and the UAE Consensus established the foundation to guide the global energy transition under the Paris Agreement framework. Tripling the share of renewable energy by 2030 has become a central target, which depends on diversifying renewable sources, expanding access to finance, enhancing cooperation, and aligning regulatory frameworks to enable a just and inclusive transition. 

This panel aims to explore opportunities to scale up the use of biofuels as a key component of the global energy transition, highlighting lessons learned from successful national programs and the potential for international cooperation and investment.
