Tripling renewable energy capacity by 2030 is one of the central goals established in the Global Stocktake and reinforced by the International Energy Agency (IEA) report “Delivering Sustainable Fuels: Pathway to 2035.”
Stimulating demand for sustainable fuels is a crucial step, as these fuels can make a significant short-term contribution to decarbonization while fostering innovation and industrial development. Encouraging technological progress in this area can also generate new value chains around renewable sources, creating jobs and investment opportunities in both developed and developing countries.
This panel will discuss the barriers and opportunities to scaling up sustainable fuels as a key strategy toward climate neutrality by 2050.
