DESCRIPTION:The heavy-duty transport sector is a major contributor to global GHG emissions and hard to decarbonize due to its reliance on diesel and high energy demands. Achieving meaningful reductions will require a mix of technologies—biofuels\, biogas/biomethane\, and electrification—tailored to different regions and operations. Advances in flex-fuel engines\, hybrids\, and renewable biogas vehicles show that cleaner alternatives are feasible at scale\, while also promoting energy diversification\, circular economy practices\, and rural development through the use of agricultural residues and waste. \nThis panel will address the technological\, regulatory\, and financial pathways to decarbonize heavy-duty transport and examine how public policies\, industrial innovation\, and infrastructure investment can accelerate the sector’s transition towards sustainable mobility.   \nVenue: COP30 – Blue Zone – Brazilian Sustainable Transportation Pavilion (PV-C64)
